Essential and Intermediate ​Matwork

Safety is always my number one prioriy always.  I will cater to the lowest common denominate in the class in terms of strength and ability.  I will start with the easier modification that everyone can do and then advance the clients who can go further in time.  I may need to keep the exercise simple for certain persons in the class, but I can still make them intense and "focused" so everyone is still being worked out.

 

The first areas covered are 

  • Basic Principles including warm up: to warm up body and bring awareness to alignment which can then be emplasized throughout workout

  • mobilizing spine:flexionextension, rotaion: all spinal movements will be included in each workout

  • mobilizing shoulder and hips

  • some initial strengthening of core, connection with abdominals

Second areas

  • strengthening of core and periphery

Third areas

  • building on strength and endurance through core and periphery
